I think in some ways I am like a frog. Sometimes I can see obvious switches happening and know I need to keep an eye on things. However, small changes occurring over time are harder for me.
You may wonder. What does a frog have to do with changes?
Well, many years ago I heard an analogy that associated man’s inability to see dangers as resembling a frog that’s slowly boiled. Obviously, if placed in a pot of boiling water, it will make a quick escape. But, if lowered into a pot of tepid water, with the temperature slowly rising, it will not try to escape its doom until the water is at a boil.
Why? Because of its nature the frog doesn’t detect the change. It gets so use to the slow rise in heat that before long the water is at a boil and the frog’s life comes to an end. It adapted to the “lie” – the slowly increasing water temperature – while the “lie” was actually killing it. The frog dies totally unaware that it should have escaped before disaster hit.
You may be wondering – what does this have to do with the price of tea in China?
Have we been spinning our wheels of life so much that we have been distracted by matters that are misleading, or that draw our attention away from true reality? Have we had our eyes closed to the truth? Or, do we not ask enough questions to find out what is really true? I think in some ways we all have done these.

Over the past couple of years, so much of what I’m hearing from some prophets and teachers is just that. What I thought was true and could be trusted is not. Programs and leaders I thought were upstanding will be shown to be part of the “get money, get prestige, be paid to lie” group. They speak one thing while their hands are doing the complete opposite. It’s heart breaking and mind boggling all the ways we have all been deceived and lied to. All for the sake of gaining wealth and power.
God is changing this. And as the truths are exposed it’s going to seem like the world is falling apart, that truth is being torn from us. BUT, actually it’s the facade that has been laid out over time by man that is being ripped away by God. Once gone, the truth – which we have never known – will show up.
That’s what we have to keep in mind. In the end, we will know the truth. After all, the truth always comes out. (Mark 4:22; Matthew 10:26; Luke 8:17) It’s like Joseph told his brothers, what they meant for evil God used for good. (Gen 50:20) The same is true for us in this day and time.
So while our heads will spin with disbelief as the truth is exposed, let’s cling to the knowledge that God has something better coming our way.
