2 Samuel 7:11b-14a “The Lord declares to you… When your time comes and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up after you your descendant, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. I will be his father, and he will be my son.” (CSB) (110-931 BC)
Micah 5:2b “His origin is from antiquity, from ancient times.” (CSB) (738-698 BC)
Hebrews 2:14 “Because God’s children are human beings – made of flesh and blood – the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death.” (NLT)
Revelation 1:17b-18 “…Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last. I am the living one. I died, but look – I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.” (NLT)

Here is another thought that I feel needs to be mentioned when we speak of Jesus being Son of Man and Son of God. Yes, Jesus appeared on Earth in the form of man throughout the O.T. but at that time He was not ‘a man’. In being born of a woman’s seed he became fully human, while remaining fully God. This is why Jesus kept identifying Himself as “The Son of Man”. (Matthew 8:20; 12:8,32)
With blood flowing through Him He could now die for ALL the sins already committed and those that would ever be committed by man. He could win back our right to be with the Holy Trinity in heaven. No longer would what was coerced from mankind be forever lost. His birth on the earth He created allowed Him to become one of us.

In reminiscing the day my dad died, the Lord told my mom that date was my dad’s heavenly birthday. So, when his day of passing arrived, we celebrated his birthday with sweets. At the resurrection, when Jesus ascended to His Father in heaven, as Son of Man He now had a heavenly birthday. This is an even bigger deal than His arrival on earth. With His return to heaven He brought the victory of conquering the power of death.
With, and only with the covering of Jesus, can we enter heaven in this same victory celebration.
Food For Thought
Do you have the covering of Jesus? Is His victory your victory? If not, ask Him to be your covering and your victory.
