Genesis 3:15 “I will out hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.” (CSB) (after creation)
Galatians 4:4 “But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law.” (NIV)

The first mention of the good news is recorded in Genesis 3:15, thousands of years before Jesus was born. It happened after Adam and Eve had done the unthinkable by eating fruit from the Tree of Knowledge. In just an instant, their perfect existence was marred by the reality of sin. Hiding from their perfect Creator, they were naked and filled with shame. The beguiling serpent had struck a life altering blow.
Even though there was a price to be paid for their actions, God still loved them. He promised Satan, the deceiver, that he would be crushed by one coming from the seed of a woman. Galatians 4:4 reminds us this prophecy was fulfilled. The first good news had come to pass.
Imagine! From the very beginning of time, God looked down into history, seeing you and me. He knows us as people who fall into sin but loves us so deeply that He provided a Redeemer who would crush the shame of our sin forever. And, He did this the very second that sin became a reality.
