An Advent March Through Prophecy

The Christmas story is far more than the story of a baby in a manger. It began at creation and transcends time as we know it. It’s the story of a love we cannot fathom.

We can feel it.

We can see it.

We can share it.

But on earth, we will never know the depth of this love. God loves the people He created so deeply that He continually pointed the way to the ONE who would come to save mankind.

Taken in its entirety, scripture is the story of Christmas.

The Old Testament is filled with prophecies and foreshadowing that tell us why Christmas – as we celebrate it – is necessary. These prophecies come in many ways throughout the scriptures. Seen as early as Genesis after the fall of Adam and Eve, written in the Psalms of David, spoken in the words of the major and minor prophets. Everything points to the need for and the coming of a Savior.

Through the New Testament, we see many of the words have come to pass, and that some are still to be fulfilled. Put together, they unfold for us the story of Jesus Christ who came down from Heaven to give humanity THE greatest gift of all.

Over the next two weeks, we will look at some of these prophetic scriptures and show their fulfillment about the birth of Jesus. Through them we will see God’s faithfulness through the centuries. Millennia even. It tells us of His great love for us and of His desire to have an eternal relationship with man… His ultimate creation.

Please join us as we glean from His Word.
