The Upside of Change

A few weeks back my church did something I have never seen done before. They had the Special Needs class participate in leading worship. I was struck by the preciousness of the moment. They concentrated on the song and words and hand movements, but most of all they worshiped.

We all worshiped as one body. Singing praises to our risen Savior. That’s the way it’s supposed to be. United.

It wasn’t too long ago that anyone with special needs wasn’t even welcomed in a church. But, even those with difficulties in daily living can understand that God is real and needs to be worshiped. I’m thankful for a church that looks past the outside and sees that everyone needs to hear about God.
